QUAKERTOWN, Pa. — Tuesday’s heavy rain led to flash flooding across parts of the area, forcing drivers to navigate around flooded roadways.
Now, as the water recedes, businesses and homeowners are left cleaning up the damage.
Many people are waking up Wednesday to see what was left after that torrential rain made its way throughout our area.
Parts of Quakertown, Bucks County, were hit hard by flash flooding. The borough declared a flood emergency, urging people to stay home.
Quakertown streets flooded after heavy storms
One family still had water in the basement Wednesday morning, all the way up to the second step from the top. Family members told 69 News they called someone to pump out the water, and they are assessing damage left by floodwaters in other parts of their home, too.
Several roads were blocked off Tuesday night due to the flooding.
Debris and trash could be seen scattered after the floodwaters went down.
In nearby Coopersburg, Lehigh County, flooding forced an ice cream shop to close early Tuesday night. Workers at The Inside Scoop could be seen cleaning up water inside of the shop.
