A Carbondale man refused to stop for Scranton police when they attempted to stop his vehicle on Wyoming Avenue, instead yelling, “I’m good,” and driving away, according to a criminal complaint.

Anthony Robinson, 35, of Birkett Street, faces a felony charge of fleeing and eluding law enforcement officers, in addition to charges of driving under the influence and having an open container of alcohol inside his vehicle.

Police responded to the McDonald’s on Wyoming Avenue at about 9 p.m. on Friday for a report of two men refusing to leave the establishment, being aggressive and going behind the counter.

As police were placing one man in their patrol vehicle in the parking lot, Robinson began yelling, and officers asked him to move along.

Robinson then went back to his SUV, attempted to leave the area and struck a pole in a parking lot across the street, according to the complaint.

He then put the vehicle in reverse to clear the pole and began driving away.

Police yelled to Robinson that he needed to stop, but he allegedly responded, “No, I’m good,” and kept going.

Officers found the SUV in the 100 block of Green Place with heavy front-end damage and an oil leak. They found Robinson nearby.

Officers noted the vehicle was registered to Robinson.

Robinson, who smelled of alcohol, was not able to satisfactorily complete a field sobriety test, according to the complaint.

When asked what he had to drink that evening, he said, “water.”

He remains in Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Aug. 6 before District Judge Paul Keeler.
