What do you get when you combine acrobatics, holiday music, and aerial performances?
The answer: Cirque du Soleil’s ‘Twas the Night Before… holiday spectacular. This high-energy production will return to The Met Philadelphia for an 11-day run from Dec. 17 to 27.
According to a PhillyVoice report, ‘Twas the Night Before… blends Cirque-style acrobatics with storytelling inspired by Clement Clarke Moore’s famous work “A Visit from Saint Nicholas,” which follows the story of a young girl rediscovering holiday wonder.
Featuring 26 performers from around the world, the show includes aerial straps, hoop diving, hair suspension, dance, and other gravity-defying acts, set to a reimagined Christmas soundtrack.
As the PhillyVoice noted, the show is designed as a family-friendly, holiday-specific production, distinct from Cirque’s touring arena shows.
The Met Philadelphia is at 858 N. Broad St. in Philadelphia.
