Berks County resident taken to hospital with first-degree burns following kitchen fire | Southern Berks County

Amity TWP., Pa. – Fire officials say two people were burned in a kitchen fire in Berks County on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Amity Fire Company, one of the people burned was taken to the hospital with first-degree burns.

The fire broke out this afternoon on the 200 block of Stephens Way, officials say.

Fire officials said the residents of the home used a fire extinguisher to put out the flames, but got burned while trying to take the burned food outside.
