WILLISTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A Pennsylvania man pleaded not guilty Thursday to new federal charges stemming from an armed robbery at a Vermont quick stop.
Authorities say Maurice Nelson, 38, of Philadelphia, walked into the Williston Stewart’s store in April, pointed a handgun at the clerk and threatened to “blow [the clerk’s] head off.”

Police say Nelson then ran off with $369 in cash, cigarettes and lighters, stole a car in the parking lot and drove away.
Shortly after, police found the car in downtown Burlington and arrested Nelson.
He pleaded not guilty to the new federal charges on Thursday. He remains in jail, where he has been held since his arrest in April.
