Both candidates made one last push at the polls this evening.

Both candidates said they had seen a strong showing at the polls and a good turnout.

The support of both candidates continued into the evening at both of their watch parties.

Merksi said after a long year of campaigning she was pleased with the outcome and is excited to get to work. According to Mosco Merski, “When you have people that will support you when they believe in your message, they believe in who you are, it’s just the most incredible thing and feeling and it just warms heart. The support we have received bi-partisan, across the aisle has been overwhelming and something I will carry with for the rest of my life.

Meantime, Lightner said he will continue to serve the community in whatever capacity he can. “We didn’t have a lot of support from either party in this race. I always said you had to get that, I couldn’t to get Republican and Democrat, I had my patio. But the amount of people that came out because they believed in me, or my family or my cause was just overwhelming”, said Lightner.

Mosco Merski said some of the things she wants to focus on setting people up for success when the come to the court.
