SALISBURY TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Police in Lehigh County have set up a ‘safe exchange zone’ at a department parking lot for people buying or selling items online.
Salisbury Township Police Department announced the new safe zone on Facebook Friday.
The police say they are encouraging people to use their parking lot for online sales, as the area is being monitored by 24/7 video surveillance.
This comes after an online sale in Salisbury Township in June became violent.

On June 22, police say a 16-year-old boy and his mom showed up to the 1600 block of Jeter Avenue for a sale negotiated on Instagram.
A group of teenagers then came and assaulted the boy and robbed his mother, officials said.
“This effort is part of our ongoing commitment to keeping our community safe and secure,” the police department said on Facebook.
