St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, Scranton, was the setting May 23, 2026, for the wedding of Emily Elizabeth Loftus and Paul Xavier Gronski IV, both of Scranton. The bride is the daughter of James and Mary Jo Fallon Loftus, Scranton. The bridegroom is the son of Paul III and Dawn Gronski, Scranton.
The Rev. David Hendrickson, Kaua’i, Hawaii, officiated at the 1 p.m. ceremony.
Deja LaVango, Kennett Square, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Brianna McGuire, Scranton; Emilie Gronski, Henrietta, N.Y., sister of the bridegroom; Maria Guido, Dickson City; Monica Burda, Scranton; Hailee Lovell, Drums; Mamie Fallon, Scranton, cousin of the bride; and Callie Whitman, Wenonah, N.J., cousin of the bride.
Bobby McGowan and Paul Maglioli were flower men.
John P. McDonough III, Waverly Twp., was best man. Ushers were Ryan Loftus, Scranton, brother of the bride; Todd Reedy, Center Valley, cousin of the bridegroom; Jonas Cabaret-Mertel, Greensboro, N.C.; and Mario Roani, Christopher Pakutka and Evan Harbert, all of Scranton.
A reception was held at the Radisson at Lackawanna Station hotel.
The bride earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and a Master of Science in counseling from Marywood University.
The bridegroom earned a Bachelor of Science degree in the field of mechanical engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology and works as a mechanical engineer.
The couple recently relocated back to the East Coast from living in Kaua’i, Hawaii, since 2021.
Featured soloist at the ceremony was Thomas Mark Fallon, uncle of the bride.
High school sweethearts, the couple met at a mutual friend’s sweet 16 party.
The couple, who took a wedding trip to Scottsdale and Sedona, Ariz., for hiking and sightseeing, will reside in Worcester, Mass.
