The Pirates designated right-handed reliever Hunter Stratton to make room on the 40-man roster for reliever Camilo Doval, who was officially acquired from the Yankees on Saturday.
Stratton, who pitched for the Pirates from 2023-25, was reacquired from the Braves for catcher Joey Bart on June 18 for his second stint with the organization.
Stratton made a pair of appearances with the Pirates this time around and allowed two runs in 2.1 innings. He spent the rest of his time with Triple-A Indianapolis, where he had seven-scoreless relief appearances totaling eight innings. He allowed a pair of hits, walked three and struck out nine.
