Back to school season is officially underway, and school districts have already begun their annual back to school celebrations.
The Wilson Area School District hosted its 4th annual touch-a-truck and back to school celebration. More than 20 community organizations were there to give out free school supplies and to connect families with resources.
As we get closer to kids heading back to class, other programs are also holding events.
St. Luke’s University Health Network is making sure kids head back healthy. Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., the St. Luke’s Star Community Health Vans will be holding their Back-to-School Bash at the Bethlehem Area School District.
There, students will be able to get vision and hearing checks along with dental screenings and sports physicals at a reduced cost.
They will also make a stop at the Tamaqua Area School District Thursday from noon to 3 p.m.
Meanwhile on Friday, the Lehigh Conference of Churches will hold its giveaway. Students can pick up free school supplies on West Allen Street in Allentown from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
They can also receive free library books from the Calvary Moravian Church.
On Thursday, Volunteers of America will be holding a bash and resource fair starting at 3 p.m. at Laubach Park on 1600 Lehigh Avenue in Allentown.
The Allentown School District will hold a Back to School Bash on Wednesday, August 12 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Cedar Beach Park.
The Central Assembly PA Church on 1300 Eaton Avenue in Bethlehem will hold a Back To School Bash in Pembroke on Saturday, August 15 from noon to 3 p.m.
Large prizes, backpacks, and school supplies will be handed out.
The Hispanic Center Lehigh Valley will hold a Back To School Celebration on Monday, August 17 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will feature free bookbags with supplies, resource tables, haircuts for boys and girls, food and music, and face painting.
