Griffin Pond Animal Shelter’s “Paws in the Park” event connected animal lovers with adoptable dogs, raising funds to support animal rescue efforts.
SCRANTON, Pa. — On Sunday in Lackawanna County, Griffin Pond Animal Shelter hosted ‘Paws in the Park’, drawing animal lovers to McDade Park in an effort to help animals find their forever homes.
Visitors could meet adoptable dogs while enjoying food trucks, live music, and craft vendors.
“It always warms our heart a great deal to have that community support because sometimes we feel like we’re alone on an island and taking in stray dogs or dogs that need serious medical care. So yeah, it’s really great. I mean, some of these people are breeding dogs that were adopted over a year ago or even longer, so that’s always good to see too,” said Sherry Crolly, from Griffin Pond Animal Shelter.
