South Whitehall man who was in motorcycle crash dies of his injuries days later, coroner says | Allentown Area

S. WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. – A man who was in a motorcycle crash last week in Allentown has died.

Jose A. Cardona, 26, of South Whitehall Township, was pronounced dead Monday afternoon at a local hospital, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio said in a news release.

Buglio said the crash happened Friday around 8:20 p.m. in the area of North Bradford Street and East Allen Street.

Cardona was driving a motorcycle that lost control and crashed, causing him to hit his head on the ground, Buglio said.

Buglio said Cardona was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office & Forensic Center and the Allentown Police Department are investigating the incident.

Buglio said the cause of death is blunt force trauma to the head, and the manner of death was ruled an accident.

“On behalf of the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office & Forensic Center, I extend my deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of Mr. Cardona,” Buglio said.

“Our thoughts are with all those affected by this tragic loss during this incredibly difficult time.”
