ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Emergency crews were called to a fatal early morning crash in Allentown Saturday.
The single vehicle accident happened at the intersection of Union Boulevard and Quebec Street just after 5 a.m., according to Lehigh County Communications.
According to Allentown police, the driver, a 25-year-old male from Allentown, was the only occupant of the vehicle that left the westbound lane of Union Boulevard and struck a utility pole. He was given immediate emergency medical care but succumbed to his injuries on scene and was pronounced dead at 6:04 a.m..
The cause of death is multiple blunt force injuries and was ruled an accident, according to officials.
In addition to the Coroner’s office, the Allentown Police Department is also conducting an investigation.
The victim has been identified, and his family and next of kin have been notified. However, to allow the family to grieve this tragic loss privately, his identity will not be released at this time.
