Arrest made in East Hills shooting death of recent Allderdice graduate Tristan Taylor
PITTSBURGH —
An arrest has been made in connection to the homicide of an 18-year-old who recently graduated from Allderdice.
Police say 18-year-old Ronald Stanford has been arrested and charged with criminal homicide following the death of Tristan Taylor.
On June 30, an argument led to gunfire on Wilner Drive in Pittsburgh’s East Hills neighborhood.
Eighteen-year-old Tristan Taylor was hit in the abdomen.
Responding officers immediately began providing first aid to Taylor but he was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 10 p.m.
Taylor had recently graduated with honors from Pittsburgh Allderdice, participated in the Start on Success program at the Omni Hotel and had planned to pursue business at CCAC this fall.
Remembering Tristan
Following his death, family and friends gathered for a balloon release to honor the 18-year-old’s memory.
“I just want to say that Tristan was like a hero to me and my family. If anything happens, he would fix it,” Taylor’s sister said.
Taylor’s former school released a statement that read, in part: “Those who knew Tristan describe him as the kind of student who could befriend anyone. He was always willing to listen, support others, and make those around him feel seen, whether he had known them for years or had just met them.
