Unionized workers at three Upper Macungie Township warehouses have agreed to a new contract, avoiding a strike.
The agreement between Americold Logistics and the United Auto Workers Local 677 was agreed to last week and ratified Saturday.
“This contract delivers meaningful economic gains and reflects the strength, solidarity, and determination of the membership throughout the bargaining process,” UAW Region 9 said in a social media post.
Highlights of the agreement include a five-year deal with general wage increases of 10% in the first year, followed by 4% in the second, third, fourth and fifth years.
Local 677 represents 143 workers at 7150 Ambassador Drive along with 651 Mill Road and 6985 Snowdrift Road.
The previous contract expired July 31. Union workers at Americold authorized a strike, but canceled a picket line after the agreement.
