ERIE, Pa. – The Erie SeaWolves scored 10 unanswered runs and earned a 10-7 win over the Altoona Curve Wednesday afternoon at UPMC Park.
The Curve batted around and scored seven times in the fourth inning to take a commanding 7-0 lead after four innings. Murf Gray started the big inning with a two-run homer, his fourth with the Curve in 15 games. Gray holds an .894 OPS with Altoona after Wednesday’s game. He has reached base safely in every game with the Curve. Following the homer, Altoona picked up four more hits and a walk before Erie’s starter was lifted from the game. Will Taylor, Javier Rivas and Ryan McCarty recorded consecutive run-scoring doubles in the frame with Keiner Delgado adding another against reliever Yosber Sanchez to put the cherry on top of a seven-run frame. Altoona picked up eight of its 10 hits in the inning.
