On Sunday, Aug 2, Bethlehem M. B. Church, run by the Rev. David Rawls Sr., gathered to supply school supplies and pray for the students in their local community.
In a yearly hosting of their School Supply Giveaway, the church members provided bags full of school supplies to children in their congregation and within their community. Members were prepared for 50 students, but were still pleased at the 16 who showed up.
This solidified one of the church’s many missions, to support students and help families prepare for a successful academic year.
With each bag, children received words of encouragement, prayers for their success, and well wishes. This event served as a practical blessing for families and a reminder that the church remains committed to serving the community through acts of love and support.
Sister Lettie Brox was one of the organizers of this event.
“Our goal is to ensure that every child begins the school year equipped with the tools they need to learn and succeed,” said Sister Lettie Brox. “Education is important, and we believe that by investing in our young people today, we are helping build a brighter future for tomorrow.”
The church extends its sincere appreciation to everyone who contributed to making this year’s giveaway a success and wishes all students, teachers, administrators, and school staff a safe and successful 2026-2027 school year.
“May every scholar have a year filled with growth and endless opportunities,” said the members of the church.
