A Madison Twp. man threatened to kill another man while holding a fixed-blade knife July 30, according to a criminal complaint.
Jason Robert Hineline, 47, of 244 Hillside Park, is charged with terroristic threats, assault and harassment.
State troopers were called to the home at about 7:30 p.m. on a report of an armed man involved in an altercation.
Jason Matz, the alleged victim, said he was visiting the residence with his girlfriend when he got into an argument with another woman, according to the complaint.
Hineline heard the dispute, became angry and then charged Matz, police said.
Hineline allegedly pulled a 4-inch black Ruko fixed-blade knife from a plastic sheath attached to his belt, held it near Matz, and threatened to slit his throat and kill him.
Matz fled and called law enforcement. State police later found the knife inside Hineline’s residence, according to the complaint.
Hineline remains at Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of $20,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday before District Judge Joanne Corbett.
