Outreach – Center for Community Resources invites families across the region to its annual Children’s Career Fair, Saturday, Aug. 22, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 431 N. Seventh Ave., Scranton. The event is free and open to the public. Children ages 2 to 12 are invited to explore over 40 careers through hands-on activities led by professionals from local industries, including science, technology, healthcare, finance, education, skilled trades and the creative professions. Parents and caregivers are invited too; while children explore what they want to be when they grow up, adults can connect with local employers and learn about job openings and career pathways in the region. Each child who attends will complete a “career passport” while visiting booths, then choose a free item from the event’s children’s store once it’s finished. The day also includes face painting, live music, STEAM projects, free back-to-school haircuts, and complimentary food and treats for attending families.
