LEHIGH COUNTY, Pa. – A Lehigh County jury reached a verdict this week in the case of an Allentown man following a three-day trial.
District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan and Allentown Police Chief Charles Roca announce a man charged in a 2022 Allentown rape has been convicted by a jury of all charges after a three-day trial, according to a press release from the DA office.
Police say Felix Javier Pagan, 40, of Marienville, PA, was convicted of felony charges of Rape Threat of Forcible Compulsion, Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse by Threat of Forcible Compulsion and Strangulation.
On the morning of Jan. 13, 2022, a woman arrived at Allentown Police and told officers she had been raped at an apartment in the 200 block of N. 7th Street where Pagan had been living at the time, according to officials.
The victim, who was homeless at the time of the offense, told investigators Pagan had let her inside his home so she could get warm.
Officers say while inside his home, the victim said Pagan raped and sexually assaulted her. She was able to flee and went immediately to police headquarters.
Swabs taken from the victim tested positive for Pagan’s DNA, the DA office says.
Pagan faces a possible maximum sentence of 25 to 50 years, and sentencing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Feb. 9.
Pagan remains in Lehigh County Jail with no bail. Police say he also faces a potential lifetime registration as a sex offender.
