SCRANTON, Pa. — Students at the Geisinger School of Medicine received their white coats this evening in Lackawanna County.
The white coat ceremony is often considered a rite of passage for students who are just about to start medical school.
“We’re so proud of these students and so excited to welcome them to Geisinger College of Health Science. This is their first week; we’re proud to don the white coat on them, the uniform of doctoring, and we’re really excited to launch them into a medical education they can be proud of,” said Julie Byerley, president of Geisinger College of Health Science.
