Storm threat ends; steamy tonight and Sunday with more storms early next week in south central Pennsylvania
A very muggy evening is ahead, with steamy conditions continuing into Sunday. Another round of scattered thunderstorms is expected late Monday afternoon.

The threat for showers and thunderstorms has ended across the Susquehanna Valley. Except for a rogue shower or thunderstorm west of the Susquehanna River, expect a mix of sun & clouds for the rest of the evening.
Tonight, we remain humid with temperatures in the low 70s. Patchy fog is possible once again late tonight and early Sunday morning, especially near the creeks, streams, and rivers.
An overall drier day is expected on Sunday, but a stray thunderstorm may develop in the afternoon and evening. High temperatures on Sunday are expected to reach near 90° with feels-like temperatures in the low/mid 90s.
Monday starts dry with another round of late afternoon and evening thunderstorms possible. Highs will reach 90 degrees on Sunday and Monday. The Storm Prediction Center has us in a Marginal Risk for severe storms. This means “isolated strong storms are possible” according to the Storm Prediction Center’s website.
The News 8 Storm Team has declared an IMPACT DAY for Monday for the threat of strong thunderstorms. Damaging wind gusts, frequent lightning, and locally heavy rain are the main concerns. Due to the heavy rain threat, we are also outlooked in a Marginal Risk for flash flooding across the Susquehanna Valley.
A cold front will approach Tuesday into Wednesday, bringing a chance of showers and storms. Highs will fall to the low-to-mid 80s as the front lingers overhead, and humidity will drop to more typical levels for this time of the year.
As the front finally passes at the end of the week, temperatures and dew points will fall again, leading to more comfortable conditions for the weekend ahead. A ridge of high pressure should offer at least a couple of nice days at the end of the week and into the following weekend before our next round of storms.
