Gold sponsor Rock 107 will air public service announcements for the 14th annual Cpt. James R. Minicozzi Memorial Race, presented through the UNICO Scranton Chapter, taking place on Saturday, Sept. 5, at 10 a.m. in downtown Scranton during LaFesta Italiana. You can preregister ($25) until Aug. 25 at runsignup.com/Minicozzi or on race day ($35) at Linden Street and North Washington Avenue from 8-9:30 a.m. Rock 107’s Prospector will be the guest emcee during the awards ceremony immediately following the race at the main bandstand. Trophies and medals will be awarded to top finishers, including bonus prizes. Top overall finisher and the top overall military finisher will receive three nights in historic Cape May, N.J., which includes hotel and meals (valued over $1,000 each). Winners must be present to accept any bonus prizes. Proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of NEPA for their children’s annual Christmas party and college scholarships at West Scranton High School.
