(WTAJ) — It might still be summer, but Halloween is grabbing hold as Spirit Halloween stores are starting to pop up across the United States, and right here in central Pennsylvania.
The beloved seasonal shops pop up in vacant buildings every August through the Halloween season, offering costumes, decorations and much more.
Spirit stores began their seasonal hiring process while people were still waiting to celebrate the 4th of July, showing their determination not to miss a beat when the stores open. This year, they aimed to fill more than 52,000 seasonal positions across more than 1,500 stores in the U.S. and Canada.
Out of all the stores, four will be in WTAJ’s local region, with more throughout Central Pennsylvania.
Altoona – Now open in the former JoAnn store – 3415 Pleasant Valley Boulevard
Johnstown – Now open in the former JoAnn store – 1425 Scalp Avenue
DuBois – Opening in August in the DuBois Mall, next to JCPenney – 5522 Shaffer Road
State College – Opening in August in the former Rite Aid – 1971 South Atherton Street
Burnham – Now open in the former Big Lots – 331 Freedom Avenue
Camp Hill – Coming soon to the former Sears Appliance – 3740 Capital City Mall Drive
Chambersburg – Now open in the former JoAnn store – 1678 Lincoln Way East
Carlisle – Now open in the former Bon-Ton – 750 East High Street
Harrisburg – Now open in the former Bed, Bath & Beyond – 5125 Jonestown Road
Latrobe – Opening in August next to Cricket Wireless – 1062 Mountain Laurel Plaza
