Showers and thunderstorms could bring damaging winds and hail Monday to the Lehigh Valley.

The region as well as neighboring Berks, Carbon, Monroe and upper Bucks counties are under a slight risk of severe weather in the afternoon and evening hours, according to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, New Jersey.

The main risk for storms Monday would be damaging wind gusts, however brief, heavy downpours and hail are possible as well. There is a marginal risk of excessive rainfall Monday too.

Forecasters said hot and humid conditions will continue until the middle of the week. A high of 90 is expected Monday. Highs in the 80s are expected the rest of the week.

⚠️⛈️ Another round of thunderstorms is forecast to impact our area this afternoon and evening. A line(s) of storms today should be quick moving, which will help limit the risk of flash flooding, however locally damaging wind gusts will be possible.
