WYOMISSING, Pa. – According to the Wyomissing fire chief, a two-alarm fire broke out at a Berks County residence early Sunday morning, killing three pets trapped inside the home.
The fire broke out late Saturday night, just before midnight Sunday, on Edgedale Court, according to authorities.
Fire officials say emergency response teams responded quickly and worked until around 3 a.m. to get the flames under control.
According to authorities, no residents were home at the time.
The fire chief reports that no civilians or firefighters were injured. One dog and two cats did not survive.
The home is severely damaged and cannot be lived in at this time, officials say.
There is no word yet on the cause of the fire, but an investigation is currently underway by the Pennsylvania State Police.
