Jessup residents are calling the incident that took place Monday morning strange as nothing similar usually ever happens in the borough.
JESSUP, Pa. — The DA’s office says they are currently investigating a murder-suicide that took place this morning just down the street from Jessup Borough Police Headquarters.
Some residents say they knew the family well, and everyone Newswatch 16 spoke with on Lane Street had the same reaction- surprised that something like this happened here.

Jessup Borough Police were dispatched around 11 am Monday morning to this house on Lane Street.
Police initially responded to a welfare check; that’s when they found the home secured from the inside.
Now, it’s being investigated as a murder-suicide.
Two victims were found deceased on the second floor: Anthony Bruno, known throughout the neighborhood as Tony, and his daughter Samantha.
“Having everyone here today is very chaotic,” says Aalexis Misiura, who has lived on Lane Street for 14 years.
She was working from home when she looked out the window and saw two Jessup police officers parked outside her house. Shortly after, state police showed up, and she knew something more serious was going on. She says the commotion is highly unusual.
She sends her prayers to the family.
“It’s still concerning because we’re a close community; nothing really of this nature ever happens in Jessup, so when something like this happens, it’s alarming, but they said there’s nothing to worry about,” explains Misiura.
“I don’t think he ever did anything wrong in his life,” says Nick Kutchmanich, who grew up in the house next door.
After moving out, his brother was neighbors with Tony before he passed away four years ago.
Kutchmanich knew Tony for 15 years, saying he ran his own business as a mechanic. He calls the incident strange for the area.
“He was a good family man; he was an honest man. I’ve never known him to have an enemy in his life,” states Kutchmanich.
Jessup police say the exact cause of death is still under investigation.
The department wants to reiterate that this is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public.
