People of our community are being taken away. They are taken from their loved ones. Children, parents, mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters are living in fear that they may never see their loved ones again.
People are being taken without just cause, some without due process (something afforded to all who live in the United States). When members from our community are taken away, they are detained in harsh and inhumane conditions. Many would not allow their beloved Fido to live in these conditions.
Call, write, and/or email local officials in your communities. Tell them that our county does not need Immigration and Customs Enforcement. We need leaders who are for humane immigration policies. We need these members of our community to be on the right side of history. We need to stand together as a community, make it known that we do not want ICE and its thuggish ways in our towns and cities.
Some may think this will never happen to them. Think again. As history has shown us again and again, those who want to have ultimate control don’t just stop because they take away and lock up people who may not look like you.
One day it could be you, and there may be no one left to speak out.
