Allentown Police: Dog shot, killed by officer after it charged toward them | Allentown Area

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Allentown Police say an officer discharged their duty weapon and killed a dog after it charged at them.

Officers responded to the 1900 block of Turner Street for the report of a loose dog biting multiple people, the Allentown Police Department said in a news release.

City police said officers found the dog, which charged toward an officer.

According to police, the officer discharged their duty weapon, killing the dog.

Police said three bite victims with moderate injuries were located.

The investigation is active and ongoing, police said.

Police said there will be no further comment at this time related to the investigation.
