The Erie Zoo welcomed generations of families Thursday as grandparents and grandchildren enjoyed a special day dedicated to spending time together while exploring the zoo’s exhibits and attractions.
As part of Senior Day, adults 62 years of age and older and their grandchildren ages 18 and under received free admission to the zoo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., creating an opportunity for families to enjoy a day of fun and learning at no cost.
The event offered more than just complimentary entry. Visitors also received coupons for a free snack, free drink, carousel ride, and 15% off purchases in the zoo’s gift shop, adding to the day’s festivities.
In addition to animal exhibits and family activities, the zoo hosted informational booths throughout the park, giving seniors the chance to connect with local organizations and learn about services, programs, and resources available in the community.
Zoo officials said the annual event is designed to bring families together while recognizing the important role grandparents play in the lives of their grandchildren. The day provided opportunities for multiple generations to create memories while enjoying one of Erie County’s most popular attractions.
