There’s no age limit on a day at the zoo, and Thursday afternoon, seniors and their grandchildren got in for free.
The Erie Zoo hosted Senior Citizens Day on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for guests 62 and older, offering a perfect opportunity to spend the day at the zoo with their grandkids.

Provided by UPMC, Northwest Bank and National Fuel, more than 40 local organizations set up throughout the zoo with resources and information for visitors.
With plenty of free snacks and activities for all generations, families enjoyed all the zoo has to offer and more.
“It’s important to show, there’s so many places that might be hard to find on social media or online or anything, so being able to have them all in one spot is a lot easier,” said Hali Hartley, Erie Zoo’s manager of PR, Marketing and Events.
Next month, the zoo will hold a “Zoo for All” event presented by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield as a part of their “Healthy Zoo, Healthy You” initiative.
