The Pittsburgh Steelers returned to Saint Vincent College today for one of their final public practices before the team breaks camp on Tuesday. CBs Joey Porter Jr. and Donte Kent, along with DB Jalen Ramsey, did not practice today, as has been the case throughout camp, and remain on the PUP list. DL Logan Lee was placed on IR earlier this week and did not practice.
Joining those four were WRs Michael Pittman Jr., Brandon Smith and DK Metcalf. Smith got banged up in the team’s preseason opener while running down a punt, and Pittman suffered a lower-body injury during practice last Saturday. Like Pittman, Metcalf hasn’t practiced this week.
OT Max Iheanachor remains out of practice after suffering an injury in practice last week, as does DL Sebastian Joseph-Day. S Jaquan Brisker also did not practice on Saturday, which was more of a walkthrough with the Steelers coming off a 28-9 win in their preseason opener Thursday night against the Green Bay Packers.
The team did lose S Israel Mukuamu to an injury during practice, as he walked off with trainers after suffering an apparent lower-body injury. Mukuamu made an impact in the preseason opener and is competing for a backup safety and special teams role with the Steelers.
Mukuamu’s status will be one to monitor in the coming days.
WR Kaden Wetjen, another standout against the Packers, also left practice and got his ankle taped. It doesn’t sound as if there’s any real worry when it comes to his status, but it’s worth noting after Wetjen led the Steelers in receiving on Thursday.

It was just an hour-long practice for the Steelers today, so there isn’t much else to report on the injury front. The team will hold public practices tomorrow and Monday before camp wraps up on Tuesday. The Steelers will host the New York Jets on Friday for their second preseason contest at Acrisure Stadium before wrapping preseason up on Aug. 28 against the Buffalo Bills at the new Highmark Stadium.
