Winning pitcher Chris Killiany and Joe Corvo combined for a one-hitter as Carbino Club (Jessup VFW) defeated Abington, 11-1, in a District 17 Senior League City-County Tournament game. Larry Piccini, who doubled, John Bzdick, who tripled and doubled, and Corvo all had two hits. Tony Paciotti tripled for Carbino Club. … Tri-County (Hide-A-Way-U-Stor) beat North Pocono (Sanderson Law), 13-4. Winning pitcher Wally Kulick had four hits. Brian Zeiler had three hits, including a double, while Mat Lemmons and Jeremy Skorupa added two hits apiece. … In a City game, Moosic (Pasonick Engineering) needed only five innings to defeat South Side Bachelors, 13-1. John Wickowski led Moosic with four hits, including a double and a triple, while Mike Basile added three hits, including a double. … Matt Dougherty shot a 75 and birdied the second sudden-death hole to top North Pocono’s Bob Zaleski in a playoff and lead Scranton Prep to the inaugural Panorama Junior Open with a four-player score of 312. Scranton Prep’s Jeff Wastak, Ryan Potter and Brian Swift each shot a 79 to finish in the top five.

Winning pitcher Mike Malia and Joe Cicco combined on a two-hitter with 13 strikeouts to lead East Scranton Vieira Auto past Lakeland Ducknik’s Towing, 2-1, in the City-County Little League title game. Cicco, Jonathan Palochko and Zeke Larsen each had hits for East Scranton. Championship team members: Brice Finnerty, Nick Vieira, Joe Cicco, Thomas Maier, Jamal Wilson, Jonathan Palochko, Mike Malia, Joe Abda, Zeke Larsen, Gibran Mora, Brandon Swartz and Taylor Locker. … Abington Heights’ Matt Baker birdied Nos. 13, 14 and 15 and shot a 1-under 71 to win the 43rd Irving Jackman Memorial Tournament at Scranton Muni for the second straight year. His score was two strokes better than teammate Corey Cunio, Montrose’s Devlin Conrad and Scranton Prep’s Ricky Gross. It also helped the Comets win their first Jackman title since 1971. He became just the ninth boys player to win two Jackman titles, and the first Lackawanna League player since Jim Gardas capped his three-year reign in 1994. North Pocono freshman Ellen Ceresko fired a career-low 5-over 77 with three birdies to win the girls title.

Jacob Groncki ripped three hits, including a home run, and drove in seven, and Matt Saita fired a no-hitter as North Scranton dropped North Pocono, 16-0, in the District 17-32 Little League championship. Saita needed just 48 pitches to strike out nine and set down North Pocono in the four-inning final. Groncki’s three-run homer highlighted a seven-run third for the Elite Construction squad. Groncki also added a pair of two-run singles. Aiden Kologe also ripped a homer, a solo shot in the fourth inning. Brian Kellogg, Aidan Whitman and Collin Domozych each had two hits for the champs. … Kyle Pillar shot a 3-under 69 to capture the 53rd Irving Jackman Memorial title at Scranton Muni. Pillar became the Buckhorns’ first individual champion in the boys event, edging Holy Cross’ Jim Tressler by two strokes and Abington Heights’ Troy Kelleher by three. Scranton Prep’s Sebastian Cimoch and Carbondale Area’s Paul Pisarcik shot 73 to round out the top five. On top of Cimoch’s 73, Jack Habeeb carded a 74, Tyler Marchese added a 76 and Dan Hinton shot a 79, as Scranton Prep claimed its first team title since 2012.
