UPPER MACUNGIE TWP., Pa.- A third party logistics company plans to close one of its locations in the Lehigh Valley, according to a notice filed with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor.
The notice, filed in accordance with the WARN (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification) Act, indicates that CJ Logistics America will cease operations at 400 Nestle Way in Upper Macungie Township later this year.
57 employees will be impacted by the closure, the notice said.
The closure dates for the nearly 1.2 million square-foot facility are listed are as Oct. 16 through Nov. 20.
In the notice, the company blamed the closure on changing business needs.
CJ Logistics, based in Illinois, is a supply chain and third-party logistics company. It offers services that include warehousing, fulfillment, freight transportation, and end-to-end cold chain logistics.
According to its website, it operates dozens of distribution centers and warehouses in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
In the Lehigh Valley, CJ Logistics also has locations in Plainfield Township, Bethlehem and Lower Nazareth Township.
The Upper Macungie warehouse is the company’s largest in the Lehigh Valley.
