It’s taken nearly three years, but a lawsuit against tech giant, Meta, is set to begin Tuesday.
The state of New Jersey is one of the four plaintiffs.
The trial is taking place in federal court in Oakland, California.
The lawsuit, accusing Meta of contributing to a youth mental health crisis, could cost the company more than a trillion dollars.
Meta is the parent company of Facebook and Instagram.
In addition to New Jersey, the states of California, Colorado and Kentucky are the other plaintiffs.
25 other states, including Pennsylvania, have also filed suits against meta.
