Pittsburgh: Finally, a dry day Tuesday
Rain showers return Wednesday afternoon.
PITTSBURGH —
After the wettest first half of August on record in Pittsburgh, we finally see a dry day across the area. We won’t stay dry long as rain showers return Wednesday and more rain coming this weekend.
Midweek Rain Chances
A cold front will drop into Western Pennsylvania Wednesday to bring rain showers after lunch. Rain should be isolated through the afternoon and early evening working from north to south across the area.

The front will stall south of Pittsburgh Thursday to continue rain chances especially along and south of Interstate 70. Rain will come to an end late in the day. By the time we are done, most of us will see a half an inch of rain or less. No major issues are expected from the additional rainfall at this time.
Steelers Preseason Game
Friday will feel cooler behind the cold front as less humid air arrives. The weather looks great for the second and final Steelers preseason game against the New York Jets. Temperatures will be in the 70s for kickoff.
Another comfortable night for football as the Steelers host the Jets at Acrisure Stadium.
Rain chances will return over the weekend with some thunderstorms possible. At this point, no severe weather is currently expected. We will dry out and be seasonably cool to start next week as more kids head back to school.
Still plenty of rain chances this week, but no one day looks to be a washout or cause flooding concerns.
