Erie Homes for Children and Adults (EHCA) will host its annual Victory Ride on August 22, bringing together motorcyclists, classic car enthusiasts, program participants, and community supporters for a day dedicated to celebrating the everyday victories of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at EHCA’s MOVE Facility, 4950 W. 23rd St., Erie. Activities begin at 10 a.m. with one of the day’s highlights: EHCA program participants taking rides in motorcycle sidecars along an adapted route. Approximately 11 to 13 sidecar rides are expected to take place during the event.
At 11 a.m., registered motorcyclists will depart on a scenic destination ride and scavenger hunt before returning to the MOVE facility. Throughout the day, visitors can also enjoy a classic car show, music provided by Memories in Motion DJ, a picnic lunch, games, raffles, and family-friendly activities. EHCA program participants will serve as judges for the car show, selecting first, second, and third-place winners.
Known as EHCA’s signature motorcycle ride, the Victory Ride celebrates the achievements, independence, and accomplishments of individuals served by the organization. Event proceeds support EHCA programs, including residential services, Life Sharing, Project First Step, Options, and MOVE.
Organizers note that the event is open to the public, making it an opportunity for community members to learn more about EHCA’s mission while enjoying a day of entertainment and fellowship. Those who do not ride motorcycles are encouraged to attend and explore the classic car show, participate in raffles, and meet members of the EHCA community.
Individuals interested in participating in the motorcycle ride or entering a vehicle in the classic car show may register onsite the day of the event. Ride registration is $15 for individuals and $20 for couples, while the classic car show entry fee is $10 per vehicle.
