SOUTH WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. – Coroner Daniel A. Buglio has identified the 39-year-old man who died after being hit by a car on Tuesday night in Lehigh County.
Bryan J. Carney, 39, was walking around the 3300 block of Hamilton Boulevard in South Whitehall Township at 11:10 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle, police say.
He was treated at the scene and then brought to the Emergency Department at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest. Carney was pronounced dead at 11:45 p.m., the coroner says.
An autopsy was completed today at the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office & Forensic Center, officials say.
According to the coroner, the cause of death was determined to be Blunt Force Injuries.
The manner of death remains under investigation, officials say.
Township police say the vehicle’s driver stopped and is cooperating with authorities.

The coroner says in addition to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office & Forensic Center, the South Whitehall Township Police Department and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office are investigating the accident.
