Scranton Prep has won nine of the last 11 district 2 Triple-A championships, including five straight titles and three appearances in the state quarterfinals.

But is 2026 the year they take that next step?

The Cavaliers will have a pool of talented skill players that will take them as far as they can go.

Senior Braedon “ Tato” McPartland is one of the best athletes in the Lackawanna football conference and he’ll see the ball a lot.

Terry Gallagher, Scranton Prep head coach, says”I mean, I think Tato one of the best football players we’ve had here.

I think he can do anything. He could play fullback, tailback. I mean, he could play tight end. There’s a lot there’s a lot of similarities that he shares with his brother. His brother obviously. You know, and we have to get him the ball in space.

Braedon McPartland, Scranton Prep Senior added, “Every year we expect to win the district. We expect to go to states and win some games. I mean, if we fall short of that, I mean, it happens, but we expect to do big things every year, no matter who we have on our team. “

Prep will rely on the speed of Noah Krzywiec who had over 800 yards of total offense and 6 touchdowns, Brandon Farmer and others on offense. but the biggest question marks are at quarterback and offensive line.

Noah Krzywiec, Scranton Prep Senior says, “I think we have a very versatile offense. We have a lot of players that could do a lot of different things, and I think that makes us a very dangerous opponent to come against.

the experience is key, I mean, we have a lot. It’s great to have a lot of older guys that could kind of guide the younger guys. And that’s why I think year after year we always are a powerhouse, because we just have older guys that teach the younger guys what’s what and show them the reins. And I think that makes us very good.

Gallagher added, “ I’m pretty pleased with the offensive line. They’re going to make mistakes. We brought a lot of those guys up. They got their bells rung last year. They took their lumps last year because we wanted them to be ready for this year.

Will rely on, you know, Chris Paris, obviously. We played a ton in Myers who played a ton. But Cosmo’s a senior who did a great job last year, had to deal with the injury bug. So it’s his turn to go. And then you have some of the younger guys.”

Landon Sinkaus, Scranton Prep Senior says, “They’re young group. But, you know, we could rely on them because they work every day.

You know, they come here, everybody knows their stuff. You know, we’re in the playbook a lot. So. And obviously we trust in coach and chef to get us right before the season.

Once again Scranton Prep will play a challenging schedule with Loyola Blakefield, Trinity, Fairfield Prep and Delaware Valley in their first four games. “

Krzywiec says, “ I think it really helps us facing those bigger teams from out of state because as we come into league play, I think that facing those bigger opponents, it really helps us like play against better competition. “
