With the recent closures of several KFC locations in Erie and the Buffalo Road location reopening the parent company of these stores have released a statement on the closures.
Pat Miller the Training and Development Director of KFC/Morgan’s Foods the operating entity for KFC locations in Erie County provided this statement:
“The recent Erie County Department of Health violations that led to the temporary closures of our Parade Street and Buffalo Road locations were due to lapses in our facility upkeep and operational standards. We took immediate action by replacing store leadership, hiring new team members, and deploying on-site operational crews to complete deep cleaning, facility repairs, and comprehensive staff retraining.
We are pleased to report that our efforts to return the KFC Buffalo Road location to our standards met health department requirements. The Buffalo Road location was approved for reopening today and reopened to our loyal guests at 12 p.m. EST. Operational updates at our Parade Street store are progressing rapidly, and we are working closely with health officials toward its reinspection and reopening.
For years, Morgan’s Foods has been proud to serve the Erie community, and we are deeply committed to doing so safely and responsibly. Our priority was fixing these operational issues inside our restaurants immediately before commenting publicly, and we look forward to welcoming back our Erie guests with a refreshed team and a renewed commitment to excellence.”
