HARRISBURG, Pa. – Thousands of dollars in grants are being awarded to three organizations in the 131 Legislative District to expand career, education and workforce training opportunities, according to a news release.
Rep. Milou Mackenzie (R-Lehigh/Montgomery/Northampton) announced $560,000 in PAsmart grants is being awarded to the following schools:
Lehigh Carbon Community College – $140,000
Lehigh Career and Technical Institute – $140,000
Montgomery Community College – $280,000
“Career and technical education gives students and workers the practical skills they need to succeed while helping employers find the skilled workforce they need,” said Mackenzie. “I am pleased to see this funding expand career training opportunities in our communities and help prepare Pennsylvanians for good careers.”
Officials say the grants are part of a statewide $3.5 million PAsmart investment supporting 17 organizations.
