MANHEIM, Pa. (WTAJ) — The 176th Cadet Class of the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) has officially graduated, bringing 47 new troopers into the force.
“For nearly six months, this dedicated group of women and men demonstrated remarkable strength, leadership, courage, discipline, resilience, and commitment to complete the rigors of the Academy and earn the rank of trooper,” said Lieutenant Colonel Bivens. “I am beyond proud to welcome these brave individuals to our PSP family, and I have the utmost confidence in their ability to successfully serve, protect, and uphold the law across the Commonwealth.”
Troop F, Montoursville, is receiving the most new troopers this graduation season, with nine new troopers starting on Aug. 31.
PSP saw a 69% increase in applicants in 2025 compared to 2022, following the elimination of the college credit requirement in 2023.

The 2026-27 state budget has allotted $16.2 million toward supporting four additional PSP cadet classes, training approximately 380 troopers.
