A tragic accident in Erie County claimed the life of a tractor operator early Thursday morning after a falling tree limb struck him while he was working.
The incident occurred at approximately 12:01 a.m. in the 5500 block of Iroquois Avenue.
According to Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook, a 75-year-old man was operating a John Deere tractor when a tree limb fell and landed on him. The impact caused the man to suffocate, resulting in his death at the scene.
Officials have ruled the death accidental.
The victim’s identity has not been released pending notification of family members.
