WASHINGTON COUNTY, Pa. (KDKA) – Two people are facing charges for the death of a PennWest University student.
Officials said the suspects are a mother and a son.
The body of Karoline Heintz was found inside a vehicle near the campus in California, Pennsylvania, on Thursday morning.
Heintz was on PennWest University’s soccer team.
Police said the son was in a relationship with Heintz and allegedly stabbed her when they met to discuss the future of their relationship.
He then allegedly called his mother to help move her body.
According to the criminal complaint, Royce Moser said he heard demons telling him to hurt Heintz.
“I want to state that we have the individuals that were involved in this case in custody as we speak. They are being charged. They are mother and son. Mother’s name is Rachel Moser, M-O-S-E-R. Son’s name is Royce Moser, M-O-S-E-R. Royce Moser will be charged with homicide and related charges, and mother will be charged with hindering apprehension, tampering obstruction related charges,” Washington County District Attorney Jason Walsh said.
Officials said Heintz’s family had called police after she failed to check in at an agreed-upon time.
