FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — The Eagles on Friday waived injured former sixth-round receiver Johnny Wilson.

Wilson, 25, missed all of last season after suffering ankle and knee injuries in training camp. He returned to the field this summer but has missed time recently with a knee injury. If Wilson clears waivers, he will revert to the Eagles’ Injured Reserve list.

The Eagles drafted Wilson out of Florida State in the sixth round of the 2024 draft and he played in 16 games (4 starts) as a rookie. He caught just 5 passes but at 6-foot-6, 228 pounds, was known for his blocking and ability to do dirty work.

During this summer, Wilson was making a roster push before suffering another injury that put him back on the shelf. This is probably a good sign for other receivers like Darius Cooper and Elijah Moore, who are fighting for roster spots.

In addition to waiving Wilson, the Eagles made several other roster moves on Friday.

They signed C Zeke Correll and WR Brandon Hayes. They also put CB Tariq Castro-Fields on Injured Reserve.

Hayes had already been with the Eagles earlier this training camp. Correll was signed by the Vikings as a UDFA out of NC State last spring and spent his rookie season on IR with an ankle injury. He was waived by the Vikings in March. His position coach in Minnesota was new Eagles OL coach Chris Kuper.
