A man experiencing a mental health issue behaved erratically and grabbed a woman he didn’t know, police charge.

Trevor Blauth, 30, refused to comply with police who responded to the incident at the Wright Center in Scranton at about 4 p.m. on Sept. 29.

After he was transported to Geisinger Community Medical Center for evaluation, he continued to resist officers and staff and spit on an officer.

Blauth, of 26 Sawmill Road, Equinunk, is charged with aggravated assault, assault of a police officer and reckless endangerment of another person.

According to the criminal complaint:

Officers found Blauth acting manically. He grabbed onto a woman he claimed to know, but the woman said she didn’t know Blauth.

As officers put a handcuffed Blauth into a patrol vehicle, he repeatedly stated he had been raped by a deity.

Once at the hospital, Blauth became aggressive with officers, nurses and security. He refused to walk and attempted to plant himself in the hallway.

As officers assisted him into a room and onto a bed, he kicked and thrashed. He resisted as officers and staff tried to restrain him.

Blauth spit in Officer Michael Carroll’s face, getting saliva in his eyes and mouth.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday before District Judge Joanne Corbett.
