Goats took over the Glinodo Center in Harborcreek on Saturday, giving families a chance to get up close with animals, while learning about nature and the environment.
The Erie Benedictine Sisters’ “Goat Fest” brought goats from Lets Goat Buffalo and Rosemary and Pine to the center for an afternoon of unique activities.

Visitors could watch “goat-scaping” demonstrations, take a nature walk, enjoy crafts and games, and learn from the Regional Science Consortium and UPMC Hamot.
Organizers said the goats will remain on the property for the next few weeks, helping control invasive plant species.
“I think that this is a good opportunity to see kind of a positive environmental story. I think it’s important in a time when so much of the climate news is, really, appropriately, dark and troubling, to remember that, actually, we do have the solutions right at our fingertips here,” said Sister Jacqueline Sanchez-Small.
Organizers said the event combines a fun afternoon with a chance to teach the community about environmental stewardship and the role goats can play in maintaining the land.
