There is a heavy police presence outside Allen High School Monday morning, on what’s supposed to be the first day of school for Allentown School District students.
An Allentown police spokesperson said an investigation was ongoing. No further information was immediately available.
Photos shared on social media show 17th Street blocked by police vehicles, and students waiting on sidewalks outside the school.
Monday is the first day of school for many Lehigh Valley students, although some districts do not start until Aug. 31 due to the late Labor Day holiday.
