EASTON, Pa. – The 2026 Pennsylvania Latino Convention is coming to Easton for the first time in its history.
“Everybody wants to be in Easton,” said Mayor Sal Panto.
The two-day event is less than a month away, and organizers met inside of Easton City Hall to break down what guests can expect.
“I’m very excited because this is our first conference in the city,” said Panto.
Panto said it’ll be busy.
“There’s something for everybody,” said Panto. “They should attend, learn more about the Latino population and more about their own history.”
Thousands of people are expected to gather inside of the State Theatre on Northampton Street for the convention, from September 20th through the 22nd.
PA Latino Convention Vice Chair Olga Negron said she’s hopeful for a positive turnout, at the convention’s workshops and networking opportunities.
“Everybody has the heart to make this happen,” said Negron.
As a mother of three in the Lehigh Valley, Negron said the efforts that go into planning an event of this size, travel far beyond the work.
“It’s really important to me. My kids are grown, but there’s so many more out there,” said Negron. “So, let’s work together and let’s make this happen and move forward as a community.”
PA Latino Convention Chairman Norman Bristol Colon said the convention follows a strategic and intentional plan, especially with a growing Latino population in the city.
“Today is more than 25%. That is happening all across the Commonwealth,” said Colon. “I hope that you can join us. It is like a family reunion of Latinos that don’t know each other, but we have a common agenda and a common destiny.”
The convention is part of a week-long list of events in Easton.

“The most important message is that we are here that we are here to stay, that we are contributing members of not only Pennsylvania but American society,” said Colon.
