Pittsburgh police pull off ‘seamless rescue,’ remove plastic jar stuck on groundhog’s head
PITTSBURGH —
A groundhog was found “in a bit of a tight spot” after it was seen roaming around Pittsburgh with a plastic jar stuck on its head.
Pittsburgh Public Safety officials said in a post on Facebook that on Tuesday, Animal Care & Control Officers Ray Kranak and Charles Simpson came across the groundhog with the object stuck on its head.
Officials said an officer on the scene was able to pull off a “seamless rescue,” sending the groundhog on its merry way.
“Excellent work by our officers for keeping our local wildlife safe, one jar at a time,” the post said.
